Just before 1:30 p.m. the suspect approached an individual in the 1700 block of New Hampshire Avenue and threatened the victim with a handgun, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Police said they took the suspect, Dylan Nation, into custody and recovered his firearm.
Nation was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, police said.
